Archive for June, 2010Episode 9 – This is Agony!!!Monday, June 28th, 2010Episode 9 – Hell Cow has been captured practicing its first single “Agony”! Here, the beast of Hell Cow is composed of Chris, Dan, and Mike. Video coming tonight at 11pm EST!!!Monday, June 28th, 2010Sources say Hell Cow is releasing a video tonight! Word on the street is that its scheduled for 11pm. Watch it, or Hell Cow will steal your candy! Hell Cow has also been spotted practicing… Looking for singer and bassistFriday, June 18th, 2010Hell Cow has been practicing its originals and is looking to play some shows soon. We are looking for a singer and a bassist. Here’s what we’re looking for: Wrong list… We are looking for someone who can sing and scream. The screams should be badass (’cause that’s a good tonal characteristic…psh…), yet classy and unique. We would also like this person to be able to sing clean; clearly and on key. This person has to be at least as physically attractive as the rest of us, and be willing to play naked. The last part may or may not be optional. Bassist must have decent knowledge of theory and fingers that surpass the speed of mach 3. Both members should be between the age of 21 and 28ish, have their own transportation, and equipment; bass/amp, pa/mic. We practice 1-3 times a week, usually on Wednesday nights, and whatever night works next. Our main focus is originals at this point, but we do the occasional cover of Killswitch Engage, Amon Amarth, and Metallica so know a few songs by those artists. Hell Cow attacks the Gulf Coast!!!Saturday, June 5th, 2010Update – 6-5-10Saturday, June 5th, 2010The new singer didn’t work out! He was a cool dude with a hell of a scream, but family issues are currently preventing him from dedicating any time to music. Thankfully, Hell Cow understands such matters, and subsequently burned him to death. In other news, I have been going though Hell attempting to get a good sound from my drums in the home recording world. See, drums are a very acoustic instrument, and when placed in a tiny room without proper acoustic treatment (aka the secret layer… aka the studio) they tend to sound… well… like drums in a small crappy room. Our initial intention for the room was to have a small practice space at home and keep the rest of the house fairly quiet; for that, the room is perfect. Obviously it isn’t completely sound proofed and isolated, but for us it’s good enough. Now that we have decided to record our own music the downsides of said room are exploded into view. Even though the drums are properly tuned, and the mic placement has been thoroughly thought out and experimented with, the recordings, though decent, still show signs of boxy-ness and mud. Thankfully the Hell Cow has something up its… sleeve? What we want to do is record drums elsewhere, but still do it ourselves. If that doesn’t work out then we will throw in the towel and pay the big bucks to the experts! We don’t give up easily though… On the bright side, Hell Cow has written yet another original! We also have plenty of concept ideas on the shelf as well, so once we get over the recording hump, be prepared for a Moo Uprising! |
